Louisiana High School Basketball - Buckeye overwhelmed by Avoyelles
(January 24, 2012: Moreauville, LA 71355) The Avoyelles Mustangs basketball team scored 82 points and restricted the visiting Buckeye Panthers to 56 in the Mustangs league victory on Tuesday.
The Mustangs now sport a 11-9 record. They play next when they travel to Jena for a 3A District 3 contest on Friday, January 27. Avoyelles will meet a Giants team coming off a 80-24 league loss to Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA). The Giants record now stands at 1-19.
The Panthers (6-14) will now prepare for their contest against Marksville (Marksville, LA). The Tigers come into the 3A District 3 contest with a 14-9 record. In their last contest, Marksville trounced Vidalia (Vidalia, LA), 69-38, in a league contest.
