Texas High School Basketball - West Mesquite holds off Wylie

(November 18, 2011: Mesquite, TX 75149) West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Wylie Pirates (Wylie, TX), 39-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Mesquite upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Wranglers travel to Horn (Mesquite, TX) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Monday, November 21. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Horn lost 69-52 in their recent non-league bout against Plano (Plano, TX)

Next up, the Pirates play the Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, November 21. Wylie will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 52-32 non-league loss to McKinney North (McKinney, TX).
