Massachusetts High School Basketball - Old Rochester Regional holds off Bishop Stang

(February 5, 2009: Mattapoisett, MA 02739) Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs (Mattapoisett, MA) and the visiting Bishop Stang Spartans (North Dartmouth, MA), saw Old Rochester Regional's basketball squad hold off Bishop Stang by a score of 62-59.

With the victory, Old Rochester Regional improves its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Apponequet Regional (Lakeville, MA) to play the Lakers in a South Coast challenge on Friday, February 6. The Lakers come into the challenge with a record of 5-8. Apponequet Regional won 54-24 in their recent league challenge against Bourne (Bourne, MA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks (Attleboro, MA) in a Eastern challenge, on Friday, February 6. Bishop Stang will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Shamrocks come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 75-66 non-league win over Cardinal Spellman (Brockton, MA).
