Oregon High School Basketball - St. Mary's Academy thwarts Monarch

(December 22, 2011: Portland, OR 97201) The St. Mary's Academy Blues (Portland, OR) basketball felled the visiting Monarch Coyotes (Louisville, CO), 66-52 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Blues (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Gresham (Gresham, OR). The Gophers go into the 6A Mt. Hood test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Gresham defeated North Salem (Salem, OR), 50-17, in a non-league test.

The Coyotes now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mountain Range for a 5A Front Range test on Tuesday, January 3. Monarch will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 42-31 non-league win over Longmont (Longmont, CO). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-4.
