Next, the Cobras clash with the Gulf Buccaneers (New Port Richey, FL) in a 5A District 8 battle, on Tuesday, October 4. Hudson will attempt to advance on its 14-6 season record. The Buccaneers come into the battle with a 6-15 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Nature Coast Tech (Brooksville, FL).

Scoring Summary

After splitting the first two games, the deciding game was all Mustangs & pretty much all Autumn Davis. With the score tied at 4, the Mustangs sided out for the 5th point and Autumn rotated back to serve. She would be the last server of the match. Finding weaknesses in the seams of Hudson's serve reception formations, Autumn exploited those seams like a master with an extraordinary display of accurate serving. In the streak, she had four outright aces, but had the Cobras scrambling just to save the ball on her other serves. The Mustangs know what to do with a free ball, and passed, set, and crushed them at every opportunity to earn a resounding 15-4 victory in the deciding game of the match.

Hudson and Mitchell have now split their two matches and their eight games. However, in the two matches they have played, the Mustangs can boast winning 16 more points than the Cobras. Hudson looks like they're headed for a conference title, but the Mustangs have an argument that they're the best.
