California High School Basketball - Westchester holds off Lutheran

(January 28, 2012: Los Angeles, CA 90045) Westchester Comets (Los Angeles, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Lutheran Trojans (La Verne, CA), 67-62 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Westchester improves its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Comets host LACES (Los Angeles, CA) to battle the Unicorns in a Western challenge on Monday, January 30. The Unicorns come into the challenge with a record of 19-9. LACES won 67-65 in their recent league challenge against Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA)

Next up, the Trojans battle the Ribet Academy Fighting Frogs (Los Angeles, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Lutheran will attempt to improve on its 16-5 season record. The Fighting Frogs come into the challenge with a 12-7 record after their 76-31 league win over Hope Centre (Compton, CA).
