Texas High School Basketball - Strake Jesuit winner over Bishop O'Dowd

(December 5, 2008: Houston, TX 77036) The Strake Jesuit Crusaders (Houston, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Bishop O'Dowd Dragons (Oakland, CA), 67-51 in Friday's non-league test.

The Crusaders (10-0) will now prepare for their test against Jesuit (Carmichael, CA). The Marauders go into the non-league test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Jesuit topped St. Mary's (Stockton, CA), 58-40, in a non-league test.

The Dragons now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oakland for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 9. Bishop O'Dowd will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 67-59 non-league loss to Vallejo (Vallejo, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-3.

This was the Crusader's first real test on the road as they faced off against the highly athletic and versitle O'Dowd Dragons.
Fourth Quarter Summary:
Big steals and big shots led to a huge 25 point for the Crusaders. Shooting a total of 23 for 27 from the charity stripe kept the Dragons at bay and in the end unable to overcome the Crusader's lead.
