Alaska High School Basketball - East can't hold off South
(January 31, 2012: Anchorage, AK 99508) The South Wolverines basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the host East Thunderbirds to 60 in the Wolverines league victory on Tuesday.
The Wolverines now sport a 4-12 record. They play next when they host Bartlett for a Cook Inlet contest on Tuesday, February 7. South will meet a Golden Bears team coming off a 68-53 league win over Chugiak (Eagle River, AK). The Golden Bears record now stands at 12-5.
The Thunderbirds (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Dimond (Anchorage, AK). The Lynx come into the Cook Inlet contest with a 12-0 record. In their last contest, Dimond edged Eagle River (Eagle River, AK), 69-44, in a league contest.
