California High School Basketball - Taft thwarts Shafter

(January 11, 2008: Shafter, CA 93263) The Taft Wildcats (Taft, CA) basketball felled the host Shafter Generals (Shafter, CA), 55-47 in Friday's league test.

The Wildcats (11-10) will now prepare for their test against Wasco (Wasco, CA). The Tigers go into the South Sequoia test with a 8-6 record. In their last test, Wasco went down by Arvin (Arvin, CA), 45-33, in a league test.

The Generals now own a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tehachapi for a South Sequoia test on Friday, January 18. Shafter will clash with a Warriors squad coming off a 65-51 league loss to Bakersfield Christian (Bakersfield, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 8-8.
