(December 27, 2008: Fremont, CA 94536) Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Washington Huskies (Fremont, CA) and the visiting Hogan Spartans (Vallejo, CA), saw Washington's basketball squad hold off Hogan by a score of 49-43.

With the victory, Washington improves its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Huskies host Leigh (San Jose, CA) to battle the Longhorns in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 3. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Leigh lost 52-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Leland (San Jose, CA)

Next up, the Spartans battle the Johnson Warriors (Sacramento, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 5. Hogan will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 79-58 non-league loss to Jesuit (Carmichael, CA).
