Florida High School Baseball - Sickles nips Countryside

(March 19, 2009: Tampa, FL 33626) Sickles Gryphons (Tampa, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Countryside Cougars (Clearwater, FL), 1-0 in a league test.

With the win, Sickles upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Gryphons travel to Mitchell (New Port Richey, FL) to battle the Mustangs in a 6A District 7 test on Friday, March 20. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 10-2. Mitchell won 13-2 in their recent league test against Gaither (Tampa, FL)

With the defeat, Countryside falls to 6-5 on the season. The Cougars host St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg, FL) to battle the Green Devils in a 6A District 7 test on Friday, March 20. The Green Devils come into the test with a record of 3-8. St. Petersburg lost 7-1 in their recent league test against Alonso (Tampa, FL)
