(December 1, 2011: Hemphill, TX 75948) Hemphill Hornets (Hemphill, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Shelbyville Dragons (Shelbyville, TX), 32-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hemphill upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Hornets travel to San Augustine (San Augustine, TX) to encounter the Wolves in a 2A Region III District 22 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 1-2.

Next up, the Dragons encounter the Timpson Bears (Timpson, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. Shelbyville will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record.
