(December 13, 2011: Oakwood, TX 75855) Apple Springs Eagles (Apple Springs, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Oakwood Panthers (Oakwood, TX), 32-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Apple Springs upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Iola (Iola, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Monday, December 19. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Panthers play the New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Oakwood will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 35-23 non-league win over Douglass (Douglass, TX).
