Florida High School Basketball - Sickles winner over Mitchell

(January 8, 2009: New Port Richey, FL 34655) In Thursday's non-league outing, the Sickles Gryphons (Tampa, FL) basketball squad knocked off the host Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL), by a margin of 63-47.

The Gryphons (11-5) will now prepare for their outing against Chamberlain (Tampa, FL). The Chiefs go into the non-league outing with a 7-7 record. In their last outing, Chamberlain was beaten by Blake (Tampa, FL), 52-28, in a league outing.

The Mustangs now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wesley Chapel for a 5A District 7 bout on Friday, January 9. Mitchell will play a Wildcats squad coming off a 46-39 non-league win over Academy of the Holy Names (Tampa, FL). The Wildcats record now stands at 14-0.
