(January 3, 2012: Central Point, OR 97502) The Crater Comets (Central Point, OR) basketball knocked off the visiting Grants Pass Cavemen (Grants Pass, OR), 54-38 in Tuesday's league test.

The Comets (8-4) will now prepare for their test against South Medford (Medford, OR). The Panthers go into the 6A Southern Oregon test with a 11-0 record. In their last test, South Medford topped Roseburg (Roseburg, OR), 58-37, in a league test.

The Cavemen now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashland for a non-league test on Friday, January 6. Grants Pass will clash with a Grizzlies squad coming off a 44-21 non-league win over North Valley (Grants Pass, OR). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-5.
