(January 31, 2012: Hawkins, TX 75765) Cayuga Wildcats (Cayuga, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hawkins Hawks (Hawkins, TX), 45-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cayuga upgrades its record to 15-11 on the year. The Wildcats host LaPoynor (LaRue, TX) to face the Flyers in a 1A-1 Region III District 20 game on Friday, February 3. The Flyers enter the game with a record of 4-12.

With the defeat, Hawkins moves to 12-9 on the year. The Hawks host First Assembly (Seagoville, TX) to face the Knights in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 31. The Knights enter the game with a record of 0-0.
