Texas High School Basketball - La Vega holds off Lorena

(January 6, 2012: Waco, TX 76705) La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) fans went home content Friday as they observed their basketball team nudge the visiting Lorena Leopards (Lorena, TX), 52-45 in a league game.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) in a 3A Region III District 19 game, on Tuesday, January 10. La Vega will attempt to move on its 17-2 season record. The Cadets enter the game with a 11-10 record after their 52-45 league win over Robinson (Robinson, TX).

With the defeat, Lorena moves to 11-6 on the year. The Leopards travel to China Spring (China Spring, TX) to face the Cougars in a 3A Region III District 19 game on Friday, January 13. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 14-10.
