Florida High School Soccer - Berkeley Prep knocks off Ridgewood

(December 2, 2008: Tampa, FL 33615) Berkeley Prep Buccaneers (Tampa, FL) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Ridgewood Rams (New Port Richey, FL), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers confront the Ransom Everglades Raiders (Miami, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 5. Berkeley Prep will attempt to move on its 6-0 season record. The Raiders go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 4-0 league win over Coral Shores (Tavernier, FL).

The Rams now have a 1-8 record. They play next when they host Tampa Catholic for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 3. Ridgewood will confront a Crusaders team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Keswick Christian (St. Petersburg, FL). The Crusaders record now stands at 3-0.
Scoring Summary
First Quarter Summary:
JD Post and TJ Roehn scored twice for the Bucs in the first half. Tanner Bailey and Kevin Harvey also scored giving the the host Bucs a 6-0 led at half. GK Greg Michaelos made his first appearence for the Bucs entering the game as a sub for Lee Newhaller. The Bucs outshot the Rams 10-0.
Second Quarter Summary:
Kevin Harvey scored his second goal of the game to start the second half. Michealos was called into more action, making a diving save to to keep the Rams off the scoreboard early in the second half. Kevin Yent scored the last goal to end the game 15 minutes into the second half.
