Alabama High School Basketball - Tuscaloosa Academy thwarts Pickens Academy

(January 12, 2012: Tuscaloosa, AL 35406) The Tuscaloosa Academy Knights (Tuscaloosa, AL) basketball felled the visiting Pickens Academy Pirates (Carrollton, AL), 32-24 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Knights (9-12) will now prepare for their test against Bessemer Academy (Bessemer, AL). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 1-6 record. In their last test, Bessemer Academy went down by Kingwood Christian (Alabaster, AL), 33-13, in a league test.

The Pirates now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Academy for a AISA AA Region 2 Area 1 test on Friday, January 13. Pickens Academy will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 34-15 non-league win over Clarke Prep (Grove Hill, AL). The Cougars record now stands at 10-5.
