Texas High School Basketball - Leander falls to Georgetown

(December 16, 2011: Leander, TX 78641) The Georgetown Eagles basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Leander Lions to 40 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 16-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McNeil for a 5A Region II District 16 contest on Monday, December 19. Georgetown will meet a Mavericks team coming off a 50-36 league loss to Round Rock (Round Rock, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 13-6.

The Lions (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against Round Rock Westwood (Austin, TX). The Warriors enter the 5A Region II District 16 contest with a 7-11 record. In their last contest, Round Rock Westwood was defeated by Stony Point (Round Rock, TX), 53-43, in a league contest.
