Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Franklin holds off Oil City

(January 17, 2012: Oil City, PA 16301) Franklin Knights (Franklin, PA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Oil City Oilers (Oil City, PA), 43-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Franklin upgrades its record to 11-0 on the campaign. The Knights host Meadville (Meadville, PA) to play the Bulldogs in a District 10 Region 6 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 10-1. Meadville won 58-56 in their recent league bout against Grove City (Grove City, PA)

Next up, the Oilers play the Titusville Rockets (Titusville, PA) in a District 10 Region 6 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Oil City will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 70-59 league loss to Sharon (Sharon, PA).
