(January 17, 2012: Petersburg, TX 79250) Petersburg Buffaloes (Petersburg, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad trounce the visiting Cotton Center Elks (Cotton Center, TX), 64-33 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Petersburg improves its record to 4-14 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Anton (Anton, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 1A-2 Region I District 5 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 10-14. Anton lost 78-32 in their recent league challenge against Whitharral (Whitharral, TX)

Next up, the Elks battle the Amherst Bulldogs (Amherst, TX) in a 1A-2 Region I District 5 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Cotton Center will attempt to improve on its 8-14 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 1-14 record after their 62-21 league loss to Anton (Anton, TX).
