California High School Basketball - Providence topples Downieville
(January 28, 2009: Orland, CA 95963) In Wednesday's league outing, the Providence Lions (Orland, CA) basketball squad beat the visiting Downieville Warriors (Downieville, CA), by a count of 47-35.
The Lions (9-6) will now prepare for their outing against Elk Creek (Elk Creek, CA). The Elks go into the Pioneer outing with a 11-6 record. In their last outing, Elk Creek was topped by Herlong (Herlong, CA), 34-23, in a league outing.
The Warriors now hold a 0-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Princeton for a Pioneer match on Friday, January 30. Downieville will face a Eagles team coming off a 49-34 non-league win over Redding Adventist (Redding, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 3-13.
