(February 9, 2010: Laveen, AZ 85339) Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mountain View Toros (Mesa, AZ) and the host Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ), saw Mountain View's basketball squad hold off Chavez by a score of 87-80.

With the victory, Mountain View improves its record to 22-3 on the campaign. The Toros host Basha (Chandler, AZ) to battle the Bears in a 5A Central challenge on Friday, February 12. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 22-4. Basha lost 84-83 in their recent league challenge against Mesquite (Gilbert, AZ)

Next up, the Champions battle the Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ) in a 5A Desert West challenge, on Thursday, February 11. Chavez will attempt to improve on its 21-3 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 3-17 record after their 61-55 league win over Centennial (Peoria, AZ).
