Scoring Summary
First Quarter Summary:
The rust on Bishop McLaughlin was evident in the first half, having only had one practice since their last game on December 19,2008. Indian Rocks moved the ball quickly and made several runs that Bishop was late to respond to leading to an early first half goal by the Eagles' Riassi. She sent a high lob shot in from 25 yards out that, coupled with wind effects and sun, gave Hurricane keeper Gard fits. Gard was unable to handle the ball cleanly and it ended up crossing the goal line.

After the first half water break, the Hurricanes settled into their game and began communicating and playing the ball cleanly through the midfield increasing their offensive opportunities, yet still unable to find the back of the net. The Eagles were under constant pressure from the Hurricane offense and an Eagle defender clipped Hurricane forward Corrie Bexley in the box from behind. A penalty shot was awarded and Erica Houseman successfully finished it knotting the score at 1-1.
Second Quarter Summary:
Bishop McLaughlin picked up in the second half where they left off. Having knocked most of the rust off of their game, they continued mounting offensive pressure in the second half. Defensively the Hurricanes used the speedy Vlk to counter the Eagles' Eifert, who provided most of the Eagles' offensive threat in the first half.

The Hurricanes scored early in the scond half when Maramara aggressively pursued a 50/50 ball in the box and executed a sliding touch to Muscolina who was crashing from the midfield. Muscolina left little doubt as she strongly finished to the right of Eagle keeper Witherington giving the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead. The Hurricanes scored again after Corrie Bexley took a feed from the midfield in the box and was roughly taken down by an Eagle defender. Bexley finished the ensuing PK to hedge the hurricane lead to 3-1. The Eagles Davis narrowed the Hurricane lead to 3-2 after she ran onto a diagonal through ball behind the Hurricane defense. She went in one on one
