Maine High School Basketball - Winthrop thwarts Mount Abram
(January 9, 2012: Strong, ME 04983) The Winthrop Ramblers (Winthrop, ME) basketball felled the host Mount Abram Roadrunners (Strong, ME), 51-31 in Monday's league test.
The Ramblers now sport a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monmouth Academy for a C West contest on Thursday, January 12. Winthrop will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 59-34 league loss to Wiscasset (Wiscasset, ME). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-6.
The Roadrunners (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME). The Bulldogs enter the C West contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Hall-Dale was defeated by Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME), 61-43, in a non-league contest.
