Texas High School Basketball - Brownfield overwhelmed by Cooper
(January 6, 2012: Lubbock, TX 79423) The Cooper Pirates basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the visiting Brownfield Cubs to 16 in the Pirates league victory on Friday.
The Pirates now sport a 18-4 record. They play next when they travel to Levelland for a 3A Region I District 2 contest on Tuesday, January 10. Cooper will meet a Lobos team coming off a 50-24 league loss to Shallowater (Shallowater, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 10-11.
The Cubs (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Estacado (Lubbock, TX). The Matadors come into the 3A Region I District 2 contest with a 10-10 record. In their last contest, Estacado trounced Lamesa (Lamesa, TX), 48-34, in a league contest.
