California High School Basketball - St. Monica thwarts Mary Star of the Sea

(February 1, 2012: Santa Monica, CA 90403) The St. Monica Mariners (Santa Monica, CA) basketball felled the visiting Mary Star of the Sea Stars (San Pedro, CA), 57-43 in Wednesday's league test.

The Mariners (12-11) will now prepare for their test against Padre Pio Academy (Garden Grove, CA). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 16-7 record. In their last test, Padre Pio Academy defeated Acaciawood (Anaheim, CA), 49-37, in a non-league test.

The Stars now own a 6-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Paul for a Camino Real test on Friday, February 3. Mary Star of the Sea will clash with a Swordsmen squad coming off a 69-26 league loss to St. Bernard (Playa del Rey, CA). The Swordsmen record now stands at 8-16.
