Oregon High School Basketball - Willamette thwarts Sheldon
(January 26, 2012: Eugene, OR 97401) The Willamette Wolverines (Eugene, OR) basketball felled the host Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR), 46-38 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Wolverines (16-2) will now prepare for their test against South Eugene (Eugene, OR). The Axemen go into the non-league test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, South Eugene defeated Marshfield (Coos Bay, OR), 55-52, in a non-league test.
The Irish now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Thurston for a 6A Special District 1 outing on Tuesday, January 31. Sheldon will encounter a Colts squad coming off a 64-19 non-league loss to Springfield (Springfield, OR). The Colts record now stands at 5-12.
