North Carolina High School Basketball - Westover prevails E.E. Smith

(January 7, 2012: Fayetteville, NC 28303) Westover Wolverines (Fayetteville, NC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting E.E. Smith Golden Bulls (Fayetteville, NC), 55-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Westover upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Wolverines host Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to play the Vikings in a 3A Cape Fear Valley bout on Friday, January 13. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Union Pines won 67-51 in their recent non-league bout against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC)

Next up, the Golden Bulls play the Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) in a 4A Mid-South bout, on Friday, January 13. E.E. Smith will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 59-50 league loss to Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC).
