California High School Basketball - Bellarmine-Jefferson prevails Verbum Dei
(February 3, 2012: Burbank, CA 91501) Bellarmine-Jefferson Guards (Burbank, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Verbum Dei Eagles (Los Angeles, CA), 52-39 in a league bout.
With the win, Bellarmine-Jefferson upgrades its record to 2-7 on the season. The Guards travel to St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA) to play the Saints in a bout on Monday, February 6. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 5-12. St. Anthony lost 83-55 in their recent league bout against St. Genevieve (Panorama City, CA)
Next up, the Eagles play the Non JV Opponent (, ) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Verbum Dei will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The go into the bout with a 0-6 record after their 49-45 non-league loss to Verbum Dei (Los Angeles, CA).
