California High School Football - Servite knocks off St. Paul

(September 5, 2008: Anaheim, CA 92801) The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Servite Friars (Anaheim, CA) and the visiting St. Paul Swordsmen (Santa Fe Springs, CA), observed Servite's football squad thwart St. Paul by a count of 41-16.

The Friars now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Clovis West for a non-league outing on Friday, September 12. Servite will confront a Golden Eagles team coming off a 22-19 non-league win over Liberty (Bakersfield, CA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, St. Paul moves to 0-1 on the season. The Swordsmen host Garfield (Los Angeles, CA) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league outing on Friday, September 12. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a record of 1-0. Garfield won 29-28 in their recent non-league outing against Birmingham (Lake Balboa, CA)
