California High School Basketball - Shafter overwhelms McFarland

(January 11, 2012: Shafter, CA 93263) Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Shafter Generals (Shafter, CA) and the visiting McFarland Cougars (McFarland, CA), saw Shafter's basketball squad trounce McFarland by a count of 62-41.

With the victory, Shafter upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Generals travel to Arvin (Arvin, CA) to play the Bears in a South Sequoia challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 4-5.

Next up, the Cougars play the Wasco Tigers (Wasco, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 12. McFarland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 49-45 non-league loss to South (Bakersfield, CA).
