Florida High School Baseball - Port Charlotte prevails Island Coast

(April 16, 2009: Cape Coral, FL 33909) Port Charlotte Pirates (Port Charlotte, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Island Coast Gators (Cape Coral, FL), 10-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Port Charlotte upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Pirates host Lemon Bay (Englewood, FL) to battle the Manta Rays in a non-league test on Friday, April 17. The Manta Rays come into the test with a record of 6-12. Lemon Bay won 10-0 in their recent non-league test against East Lee County (Lehigh Acres, FL)

With the defeat, Island Coast falls to 10-12 on the season. The Gators host Canterbury (Fort Myers, FL) to battle the Cougars in a non-league test on Tuesday, April 21. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 9-9. Canterbury won 13-2 in their recent non-league test against Gateway Charter (Fort Myers, FL)
