Rhode Island High School Basketball - Mount St. Charles Academy prevails Johnston
(February 26, 2010: Johnston, RI 02919) Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties (Woonsocket, RI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI), 51-38 in a league bout.
With the win, Mount St. Charles Academy upgrades its record to 18-3 on the season. The Mounties travel to Narragansett (Narragansett, RI) to encounter the Mariners in a non-league bout on Tuesday, March 2. The Mariners go into the bout with a record of 10-11. Narragansett lost 50-38 in their recent league bout against Prout (Wakefield, RI)
Next up, the Panthers encounter the Warwick Veterans Hurricanes (Warwick, RI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, March 1. Johnston will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a 9-13 record after their 45-39 league win over Central (Providence, RI).
