California High School Basketball - Shafter holds off Wasco

(January 25, 2008: Wasco, CA 93280) Shafter Generals (Shafter, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Wasco Tigers (Wasco, CA), 70-64 in a league bout.

With the win, Shafter upgrades its record to 5-13 on the season. The Generals host Bakersfield Christian (Bakersfield, CA) to play the Eagles in a South Sequoia bout on Tuesday, January 29. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Bakersfield Christian won 87-67 in their recent league bout against Taft (Taft, CA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Tehachapi Warriors (Tehachapi, CA) in a South Sequoia bout, on Tuesday, January 29. Wasco will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 58-49 league win over Taft (Taft, CA).
