Missouri High School Basketball - Marquette holds off Savannah
(January 27, 2012: Chesterfield, MO 63017) Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Marquette Mustangs (Chesterfield, MO) and the visiting Savannah Savages (Savannah, MO), saw Marquette's basketball squad hold off Savannah by a count of 53-46.
With the victory, Marquette upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Eureka (Eureka, MO) to play the Wildcats in a Suburban - West challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 6-10. Eureka lost 58-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Howell (St. Charles, MO)
Next up, the Savages play the Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) in a Midland Empire challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Savannah will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Fighting Irish come into the challenge with a 9-9 record after their 55-33 non-league loss to Hogan Prep Charter (Kansas City, MO).
