Texas High School Basketball - Borden prevails Wellman-Union

(December 16, 2011: Wellman, TX 79378) Borden Coyotes (Gail, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX), 63-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Borden improves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Coyotes host Klondike (Lamesa, TX) to battle the Cougars in a 1A-2 Region I District 8 challenge on Monday, December 19. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 3-4.

Next up, the Wildcats battle the Loop Longhorns (Loop, TX) in a 1A-2 Region I District 8 challenge, on Monday, December 19. Wellman-Union will attempt to improve on its 6-12 season record. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 50-41 league win over O'Donnell (O'Donnell, TX).
