(January 6, 2012: Katy, TX 77449) The Cypress Springs Panthers (Cypress, TX) basketball nipped the host Cypress Lakes Spartans (Katy, TX), 53-50 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (12-9) will now prepare for their test against Cy-Woods (Cypress, TX). The Wildcats go into the 5A Region III District 17 test with a 7-12 record. In their last test, Cy-Woods was tipped by Cypress Creek (Houston, TX), 47-41, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 12-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cypress Falls for a 5A Region III District 17 test on Tuesday, January 10. Cypress Lakes will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 69-38 league win over Jersey Village (Houston, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 19-3.
