Oregon High School Basketball - Liberty holds off St. Helens
(January 20, 2012: Hillsboro, OR 97124) Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Liberty Falcons (Hillsboro, OR) and the visiting St. Helens Lions (St. Helens, OR), saw Liberty's basketball squad hold off St. Helens by a score of 59-54.
With the victory, Liberty improves its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Parkrose (Portland, OR) to play the Broncos in a 5A Northwest Oregon challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Broncos go into the test with a record of 4-10.
The Lions now own a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Putnam for a 5A Northwest Oregon test on Tuesday, January 24. St. Helens will clash with a Kingsmen squad coming off a 54-41 league loss to Wilsonville (Wilsonville, OR). The Kingsmen record now stands at 7-7.
