Arizona High School Basketball - North edges South Mountain

(January 5, 2012: Phoenix, AZ 85014) The North Mustangs (Phoenix, AZ) basketball nipped the visiting South Mountain Jaguars (Phoenix, AZ), 78-71 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Fairfax (Laveen, AZ). The Stampede go into the non-league test with a 12-3 record. In their last test, Fairfax got by Goldwater (Phoenix, AZ), 71-38, in a non-league test.

The Jaguars now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Coronado for a II Section III test on Tuesday, January 10. South Mountain will clash with a Dons squad coming off a 70-52 league loss to Tempe (Tempe, AZ). The Dons record now stands at 4-11.
