Texas High School Basketball - Clemens ripped by Canyon

(February 3, 2012: New Braunfels, TX 78130) The Canyon Cougars basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Clemens Buffaloes to 38 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 22-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lockhart for a 4A Region IV District 27 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Canyon will meet a Lions team coming off a 43-40 league loss to Hays (Buda, TX). The Lions record now stands at 8-17.

The Buffaloes (12-20) will now prepare for their contest against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Rangers enter the 4A Region IV District 27 contest with a 11-21 record. In their last contest, Smithson Valley was routed by Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX), 60-37, in a league contest.
