South Carolina High School Basketball - James Island can't hold off Goose Creek

(January 20, 2012: Charleston, SC 29412) The Goose Creek Gators basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the host James Island Trojans to 65 in the Gators league victory on Friday.

The Gators now sport a 15-3 record. They play next when they host Wando for a AAAA Region VII contest on Tuesday, January 24. Goose Creek will meet a Warriors team coming off a 60-36 non-league win over Colleton County (Walterboro, SC). The Warriors record now stands at 16-2.

The Trojans (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Stratford (Goose Creek, SC). The Knights come into the AAAA Region VII contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Stratford was nudged by West Ashley (Charleston, SC), 70-50, in a league contest.
