Illinois High School Basketball - Cahokia falls to Mt. Vernon
(January 16, 2009: Mt. Vernon, IL 62864) The
Mt. Vernon Rams basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting
Cahokia Comanches to 45 in the Rams league triumph on Friday.
The Rams now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to
Mattoon for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 21.
Mt. Vernon will meet a Green Wave team coming off a
55-34 non-league win over
Taylorville (Taylorville, IL). The Green Wave record now stands at 4-7.
The Comanches (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against
Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest,
Edwardsville ran past
East (Belleville, IL),
77-31, in a league contest.
