(December 23, 2008: West Warwick, RI 02893) The Coventry Oakers basketball team scored 66 points and held the host West Warwick Wizards to 60 in the Oakers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Oakers now sport a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Niceville for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 27. Coventry will confront a Eagles team coming off a 70-65 non-league win over Milton (Milton, FL). The Eagles record now stands at 6-5.

The Wizards (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Johnston (Johnston, RI). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Johnston nudged Our Lady of Fatima (Warren, RI), 63-51, in a league contest.

Led by the three point shooting (8 for 12) of Richard Lizotte (3 three pointers), Reuben Paygai (2 three pointers), Max Motroni (2 three pointers), and Chris Morrison (1 three pointer), the Wizards jumped out to a 35-32 lead over a veteran Coventry five.
Fourth Quarter Summary:
Down 51-42 with 9:24 to go in the game, Trevor DiMicco (8 of his 13 points)and Sean Finnegan (8 of his 12 points) led Coventry on a 10-0 run to take th lead 52-51 with 7:11 left. West Warwick retook the lead, 53-52, on a Charles Parent jumper from the corner with 6:17 left. with 4:14 left, Coventry pulled ahead 56-55 on an Adam Cloutier putback. Down 60-57 with 2:30 left, senior Chris Morrison tied it up with a three pointer. After Coventry went back up, 62-60, the Wizards Cesar Ortiz had lay up spin out with 1:30 left in the game. Coventry's Sean Finnegan and Trevor DiMicco, then, hit 4 of 5 free throws down the stretch to earn their third league victory of the year over the upset-minded Wizards.
