(December 29, 2011: Columbus, MS 39702) In Thursday's non-league outing, the Jackson-Olin Mustangs (Birmingham, AL) basketball squad edged the host Columbus Falcons (Columbus, MS), by a count of 58-52.

The Mustangs (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Trojans come into the non-league challenge with a 7-4 record. In their last challenge, New Hope held off Noxubee County (Macon, MS), 64-58, in a non-league challenge.

Next up, the Falcons play the Nanih Waiya Warriors (Louisville, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 30. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 50-44 league win over Weir (Weir, MS).
