Texas High School Basketball - Leander holds off McNeil

(December 6, 2011: Leander, TX 78641) Leander Lions (Leander, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting McNeil Mavericks (Austin, TX), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Leander upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Lions travel to Rouse (Leander, TX) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Rouse won 47-23 in their recent non-league bout against Lago Vista (Lago Vista, TX)

Next up, the Mavericks play the Austin Maroons (Austin, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. McNeil will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 51-43 non-league win over Lehman (Kyle, TX).
