Arizona High School Basketball - Chaparral thwarts Tolleson

(February 2, 2012: Scottsdale, AZ 85253) The Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) basketball felled the visiting Tolleson Wolverines (Tolleson, AZ), 81-73 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Firebirds (14-11) will now prepare for their test against South Mountain (Phoenix, AZ). The Jaguars go into the II Section III test with a 15-11 record. In their last test, South Mountain went down by Arcadia (Phoenix, AZ), 70-57, in a league test.

The Wolverines now own a 11-10 record. They take the field next when they host Maryvale for a I Section I test on Friday, February 3. Tolleson will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 77-45 non-league loss to Chavez (Laveen, AZ). The Panthers record now stands at 2-19.
