Mississippi High School Basketball - South Panola holds off Water Valley

(February 3, 2012: Batesville, MS 38606) South Panola Tigers (Batesville, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Water Valley Blue Devils (Water Valley, MS), 43-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South Panola upgrades its record to 7-10 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Tupelo (Tupelo, MS) to play the Golden Wave in a 6A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Golden Wave come into the bout with a record of 20-8. Tupelo won 69-50 in their recent non-league bout against Corinth (Corinth, MS)

In their next game, the Blue Devils face the Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, February 7. Water Valley will attempt to move on its 4-11 season record. The Mustangs enter the game with a 11-12 record after their 72-44 non-league win over Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS).
