(January 31, 2012: Avon, CT 06001) The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers (Hartford, CT) basketball nipped the host Avon Falcons (Avon, CT), 60-58 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tigers (12-4) will now prepare for their test against Suffield (West Suffield, CT). The Wildcats go into the North Central Connecticut test with a 13-2 record. In their last test, Suffield got by East Granby (East Granby, CT), 50-25, in a league test.

The Falcons now own a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Somers for a North Central Connecticut contest on Friday, February 3. Avon will meet a Spartans team coming off a 54-41 league win over Stafford (Stafford Springs, CT). The Spartans record now stands at 6-9.
